Illana Wineries and Vineyards
Viticulture, a way of life
Tradition, craftsmanship, and a strong family spirit define the fourth generation of vintners passionate about quality grapes and wines.
In 1626, King Philip IV granted their family the Finca Buenavista, located at an altitude of 740 meters in Pozoamargo (Cuenca).
Javier oversees the daily operations of the winery and vineyards. The entire Illana family continues to supervise the land, taking careful measures to cultivate it and maintain its productive capacity.
The winery also features a dovecote, which has always had a strong presence for everyone working at the winery, and thus it has been included in the branding of Bodegas y Viñedos Illana.

We maintain and respect the varietal tradition of our lands
They have 100 hectares of their own vineyards, carefully tended and monitored by the winery’s enologists and technicians. They maintain and respect the varietal tradition of these lands with Cencibel (Tempranillo) and Bobal grapes. Additionally, they also cultivate Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Airén on clay-limestone soils covered with pebbles. This terrain retains water and provides great consistency during drought periods in a Mediterranean and dry climate.
